Self Confidence And Self Esteem
Jun 12th, 2008 | By Robert | Category: Current Projects“Building Self Esteem” has been a favorite topic of mine for years. I believe that we are constantly balancing two things:
- I am perfect the way I am
- I am always wanting to be/do/have more
The issues for many people are that:
- They won’t allow their “current self” to be perfect
- They compare themselves to others in order to make decisions about point 1 above.
- They don’t know how to setup a well-formed future for what they want to be/do/have
- They don’t know how to direct their minds to consistently achieve the well-formed future 9even if they have one!)
Sounds like a mess right?
Well not really – in fact it is generally pretty easy to sort out. And I don’t believe in months or years of “talk therapy” to achieve this. For most people, it only takes a few sessions – and that’s why I put together a “self-help” solution at Instant Self Esteem.
Of course, if someone you know is suicidal, drug affected or clearly in need of professional mental health assistance, then I recommend you seek urgent assistance from your local health professionals.
